Components of an ENT Set:

1. Otoscope: This tool is used to look into the ears. It has a light source, a magnifying lens, and a speculum (a funnel-like attachment) to help visualize the ear canal and eardrum.
   • Reusable Specula: These are attachments of various sizes that can be placed on the otoscope to look into the ear canal. They are disposable to maintain hygiene between patients.
   • Battery Handle: Most modern otoscopes have a rechargeable battery handle.
2. Ophthalmoscope: This is used to examine the inside of the eye, including the retina. It has a light source and a set of lenses to adjust the focus for different depths of the eye.
3. Nasal Speculum: This is a manual, two-pronged tool used to spread open the nostrils for a clearer view of the inner nasal passages.
4. Tuning Forks: While not always included in basic sets, tuning forks are used for various auditory tests and can help in the diagnosis of certain types of hearing loss.
5. Laryngeal Mirrors: Small, round mirrors used to view the larynx or voice box. The mirror is warmed (to prevent fogging) and placed at the back of the throat.
6. Carrying Case: The instruments are typically housed in a robust and compact case for easy transport and to ensure the tools remain clean and protected.
