Components of an Infusion Stand:
- Pole: This is the main upright component of the stand. It is usually made of stainless steel or another durable material. Some poles are telescopic, allowing for height adjustment.
- Hooks or Hangers: These are located at the top of the pole and are designed to hold the bags or bottles of fluids. Some stands have multiple hooks to hold more than one bag or bottle at a time.
- Base: This provides stability to the stand. It usually consists of several outwardly extending legs, often with casters (wheels) to make the stand mobile. The number of legs can vary, but most commonly, there are four or five.
- Casters (Wheels): These are attached to the legs and allow the stand to be easily moved. They often come with brakes to lock the stand in place when needed.
- Adjustment Mechanism: This allows the height of the pole to be adjusted according to the needs of the patient and the healthcare provider. It could be a knob, a clasp, or another mechanism.
